Skin Care The Natural And Cheap Way

There are many skincare products on the market and it may overwhelm you to try so many of them. Some of them are very expensive and may burn a hole in your pocket if you need to try them for a period of time to be effective.

It is essential to take care of your skin. Most children's skin is beautiful and needs nothing more than the care of sunscreen when they go outside, but once they reach their teens, all sorts of problems begin to manifest. Acne is one of the problem. Even if you are fortunate enough to escape acne, you still need to take care of your skin. Most people know if their skin is oily or dry. Often skin that is a bit oily has dry patches in a T-section that includes the nose. If your skin seems dry and scaly here, you should apply moisturizer to it, but astringents to the oily part. The skin around the eyes is more tender and fine and should be treated with a product especially designed for it.

There are some fun and inexpensive products you can make from the ingredients you can find right in your kitchen:

If brown spots trouble you, use a vitamin C lotion under your make-up. This will help to neutralize free radicals that sabotage your skin after exposure to sunlight. Revlon has a sunscreen that contains vitamin C in it already.

Oatmeal paste.
Mix 2 tbsp oatmeal, 4 tbsp plain yoghurt, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1 tbsp chopped parsley, and 1 tsp olive oil together. Massage into the skin, rinse off after about 4/5 minutes. This is great for oily or irritated skin. You can put a handful of oatmeal into the toe of your old pantyhose and use it to scrub your whole body, too.

Mask to treat wrinkles.
Beat 1 egg into 2 tbsp of milk. Wash your skin first then gently dab this concoction on. Rinse with warm water after 4/5 minutes. Add moisturizer.

From about age 30 the skin's natural ability to get rid of dead skin is impaired and this makes it look dull. Exfoliating your skin regularly, will keep it in good condition and help to create that translucent look. Look for products that contain alpha-, beta-, and poly-hydroxy acids. They will help slough off the dead skin, bringing fresh new cells to the surface.

Copper peptide is one of the newest patented ingredients that works against sagging. It is an antioxidant thought to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin in the skin.

Lastly, remember to remove make-up every night and cleanse with a gentle toner. If you do nothing to your skin will not be able to rejuvenate itself to a great degree, thus giving wrinkles and pimples to your face.

There are basically two types of dyeable shoes: factory and custom. Both are "custom" in the sense that you can get almost any color you want, but factory dyed shoes are more color-fast then custom ones. Custom dyeable shoes are done in the store or at home. This kind of dye will bleed and stain if they get wet. The big advantage to custom dying is that you can re-dye these shoes. The Attraction of Galicia and Northern Spain

Galicia in particular and Northern Spain in general have long been considered to be a hidden jewel in the entire Spanish tourist industry. The climate is much milder than in the southern Iberian Peninsula and all of the autonomous regions in Northern Spain can provide all of the necessary ingredients that can make up a successful holiday. The Atlantic coast of northern Spain boasts extremely attractive sandy beaches whilst inland the mountain ranges are criss-crossed by numerous foot paths. If you look at all of the autonomous regions that make up modern day Spain, Galicia has to be the most remote. Located in the northwest corner of the Iberian Peninsula Galicia is a green, rain swept region remarkable for the diversity of its landscape, where coastal cliffs alternate with lowlands and ldquo;rias.rdquo; Galicia is proud to be the home of one of the most visited religious pilgrimage sites in the world whilst of a more earthly nature the region is extremely famous for its excellent cuisine especially the seafood. Indeed a whole tourism industry has sprung up around Santiago de Compostela and the whole Way of St. James otherwise known as the ldquo;Camino de Santiago.rdquo; The Galicians, whose origins are Celtic, are fiercely proud of their culture and language. Historically, always classed as the poorer cousin to some of the other richer regions Galicia had an economy that did not easily lend itself to modernisation. Because of its location and partisan traditions Galicia was always fairly inward looking having managed to survive throughout the centuries without ever really been conquered by anybody. It was only very briefly an independent monarchy in the 10th and 11th centuries. Bordering Portugal to the south and enclosed by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean in the west Galicia could offer its inhabitants little in the way of new land for cultivation. The end result of all this was that like Ireland in the north in Galicia, emigration became a major industry. Thankfully slowly throughout the 20th century Galicia has begun to develop a way in which to manage the traditional lifestyles with a modern community to ensure that none of its rich history is lost. Galicia has always maintained strong links with the sea and the port cities of Vigo and Corunna are centres of culture and industry. As befits a province that has such reliance on the sea, the seafood here is amongst the best in Spain and fishing is vital to the economy. As well as the major ports the coastline of Galicia is dotted with tiny little fishing villages. The Galician coastline which was devastated in 2002 with the sinking of the oil tanker prestige has slowly managed to recover and in some cases is now better than ever. The major geographical point on the Galician coastline is probably Cape Finisterre which is the westernmost part of the Spanish mainland. Inland, the hillsides which are quite often shrouded in mist conceal the remains of Celtic settlements throughout the region. Other examples of the Celtic traditions can be found in the many stone crosses found at crossroads and junctions throughout the region whilst also the continued use of the old traditional stone granaries found in many villages. As with other Celtic regions, the love of music and the arts is very common in Galicia and as well as its own traditional language, Gallego, Galicia has its traditional musical instrument the bagpipes! The other way the Celtic tradition is also represented in Galicia is within the various art and Cultural forms. With respect to the Galicians, there is a certain Melancholy to their traditional songs and poetry and this too they have in common with the Irish, Breton, Scottish, Welsh and other Celts. With regards to Galicia (as with County Donegal in the Republic of Ireland), as anyone who has experienced some of the fierce storms coming in from the Atlantic perhaps this is understandable.

Stress: The Silent Killer

Stress is an overlooked reason people have health problems. Reducing stress is guaranteed to give you a healthier life and can prevent future health problems! Stress!!! Most of us feel some kind of stress every day. The dictionary defines stress as physical, mental, or emotional strain or tension. Everyday 87% of the population lives under this type of stress. We worry about money, children, jobs, our spouse or significant other and hundreds of other things on a daily basis. Just driving to the corner store can cause tension as you dodge that crazy driver or see the price of gas at the pump. Some people are very aware of the strain and tension in their life, but many of us live with stress that we don't see or are unwilling to admit we have. We just go about our daily life thinking this is the way it is supposed to be, the norm. We build our lives and behaviors around stress. Even children and especially teens have stress. They worry about their friends, their weight, if they are wearing the right clothes or if they have a zit (acne). More Medical Problems are caused by Stress than anything else! Learning the right way to relax and reduce tension can help your body work better and create a healthier life. Your body's natural processes are affected by stress. Stress can be a killer and reducing your stress should be a top priority in your life. Stress can cause: 1. Your Body to Age: - Which means all your cells and organs are getting old before their time. When your stomach ages, food sits in it longer and can start to spoil before its even digested. This can lead to colon problems. Your skin and heart can also be affected by stress. 2. Sugar to Build Up: - When humans were hunters and gatherers, they had stress when they were being stalked by a predator. The body understood this stress and released sugars for instant energy so we could flee or fight. Now, when the stress causes the sugars to release, we don't use them for energy. They go unused and the body stores them as fat instead. 3. Your Blood to Thicken: - Thicker blood allows it to carry more oxygen to help with our fight or flight as previously mentioned. Again we don't use this feature as nature originally intended and now thicker blood only starts the process of building up plaque on the walls of our arteries. 4. Increased Number of Diseases: - Stress depresses the immune system. Colds and viruses are more common in stressed people. Viruses can cause some cancers, thus keeping a strong healthy immune system is a must. Stress has also been linked to Parkinson's disease. 99% of all Disease is caused by Stress! When your body senses stress, it automatically gets you ready to run or fight. This is just part of your biological makeup. First, the natural response causes the stomach and colon to shut down. - Extra blood is needed by the body and it takes it from the stomach and colon. - With no blood, these organs age faster. - Food that was being digested now just sits there and starts to rot. You end up with rotten food in your colon. As you can imagine, eating rotten food can make you sick, so can having it sitting in your body. - 90% of your immune system is battling disease in the colon. Ask any doctor who does autopsies about people's colons. It's not a pretty picture. Second, your metabolism changes. - The body needs energy and it needs protein. - It goes to the muscles to get it. - If you don't replace the protein and all the amino acids and enzymes, you lose muscle. - You lose body shape when you lose muscle. - The body replaces the muscle with FAT! I have just described a majority of the human population. We are stressed out and because of the stress we are battling colds, the flu, allergies, you name it because of our reduced immune system. So What Can I Do to avoid this downward spiral? Dealing with stress is something we can manage. There are several steps that can reduce stress and when that becomes too difficult, there are things we can do to counteract the negative effects stress has on our bodies. First and foremost, the best way to alleviate the problems associated with stress is to get rid of the stress in our lives. Some things you can do include learning relaxation techniques and ridding yourself of stressful habits. Everyone is different and deals with everyday situations in different ways, but we can all learn to reduce the stress in our life. Second, because it is impossible to get rid of all stress, we need to give our bodies the things it needs to be healthy and overcome the ill effects that stress creates. These can include: 1. Provide you body with the nutrients it needs. While this sounds simple enough, when you body is under stress , the stomach shuts down so even if you are eating a good diet, your body isn't getting what it needs. Supplementation is the answer. However, not all supplements are created equal. Make sure your supplements can be used by the body when it is under stress. This means they get the nutrients to your cells where they are needed and not just take them on a nice ride through your digestive tract. 2. Boost your immune system. Stress makes our bodies more susceptible to disease. It lowers the overall immunity and creates a situation where a majority of the immune system is battling disease in the colon. 3. Get more protein. Most people don't get enough protein. Stress causes the body to need more of it and so your body raids the muscles to get what it needs. When there is nothing to replace the muscle protein it gets replaced with fat. We slowly lose our shape and definition as we lose muscle. Adding more meat to our diet is not the best solution. Today, almost all commercial meat is contaminated in some way. The beef, pork and chicken you buy from the supermarket is pumped full of antibiotics. A better solution is soy protein. This is a plant protein that has all the amino acids a human body needs. I read a great article once about everything I ever needed to know I learned in Kindergarten. It said something like "Live a balanced life - learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some." It's amazing, if we think back to when we were young and now as adults followed some of those same rules how much better our lives could be. I can hear my Mom saying "Eat your vegetables and Take your vitamins". We can all learn a thing or two about life and living if we sit back and watch little kids. So relax, listen to your body and learn how to reduce the stress and its effects on your health. This could be the most important action you can take towards living a longer, healthier and more enjoyable life. THINK ABOUT IT!

Keeping Your Kids Happy During a Keystone Colorado Ski Vacation

How many times has your family's excitement surrounding a ski vacation been dampened by lack of planning? If your family is anything like ours, there will have been times when the enthusiasm for a ski outing plummets within minutes because essential gear or clothing was left behind. With a little bit of advance planning, all members of your family will be excited and content throughout the day.

Tips:

Clothing: Make sure your children are dressed in layers. We all know that layering allows our bodies to accommodate our constantly changing temperature. Avoid cotton clothing as it retains moisture and try some of the readily available wicking fabric products. A Turtleneck, fleece and jacket are all a good idea and the little one's can shed layers as necessary.

Body Fuel: Stuff your pockets with Powerbar-like snacks, nuts, and dried fruit. Inevitably, someone will want to quit before others are ready because of hunger.

Extras: Make sure to keep a gear bag in the car with extra clothing items like mittens, socks, headbands, sunglasses, goggles, sunscreen, and lip balm. long underwear and socks. If you've ever seen the monumental size of the lost and found boxes at ski resorts, you will know that is only inevitable that someone will forget something...

Protective Eyewear: I can't emphasize this enough. I hear more horror stories from my ophthalmologist friends about the dangers of the Colorado sun on young eyes, especially when it reflects off the snow. Make sure your children have UV protective sunglasses or goggles.

Plan for Being Separated on the Slope. While we all hope it never happens, I can assure you, it can happen much faster than you think. Make sure you plan a meeting place before you begin skiing in the event your child becomes lost. The information booth is a good place or decide which lift you will ski next so if you get separated. Make sure your child carries a piece of paper in a secure pocket that has your home, cell and lodging phone number as well as your name. Inexpensive walkie talkies are now available and are a big hit on the slopes.

TAKE A LESSON: Skiing IS NOT something you can teach to your kids, even if you are an expert. It's also not something you can teach yourself. If you are going to invest in the time and lift ticket and lodging to go skiing, invest in a lesson also. It's the best money you will spend if you've never been skiing before.

Planning a little in advance ensures a great adventure, fun, laughter. It is a wonderful feeling to know that your children's fondest childhood memories were of your family ski vacations.
